Shane Yellowbird hit the ground running in Music City this week. With his new album, "It's About Time," hitting store shelves this past Tuesday, the celebration for his sophomore release moved south to Nashville, Tennessee -- a city Shane loves. "Nashville is a second home for me," says Yellowbird. "I love the spirit and musical history of the city. It's great to be able to bring my family down, to have them here to celebrate this week with me."
Friends and family gathered on Friday, November 20th at the sacred Ryman Auditorium for Shane's Grand Ole Opry debut. Sharing the stage with Little Big Town and Vince Gill, Shane performed his #1 chart topper "Pick Up Truck," and his current hit single "Bare Feet on the Blacktop" to a welcoming sold out crowd.
Says Shane of his debut, "There are no words to describe what I felt when I walked out on the Ryman stage. To see my Mom & Dad in the crowd, so proud, was incredible. It wasn't just a dream come true for me, but a dream come true for them. To think of the artists that stood on that stage before me... It left me speechless. I'm overwhelmed and honored to have performed on the Opry."
Watch for a television special, coming soon to CMT Canada, documenting Shane's week of celebrations. This special includes candid conversations with country legends and superstars including Bill Anderson, Charlie Daniels, Buddy Jewell and Gretchen Wilson. And finally, Yellowbird spent two days on Nashville's legendary Broadway shooting the video for his next single, "Watching You Walk Away." Directed by Fahrenheit Film's Tony Hrynchuk, this new video promises to be as sophisticated and emotional as the ballad itself. "Watching You Walk Away" will debut on CMT Canada in the coming weeks.
